I’ve been working with a PhD and writer to help get the court reporter shortage fraud published in media that isn’t mine. The sad truth is that, while she knows what’s up, and anyone that reads my work knows what’s up, a lot of people are turned off by the Stenonymous brand and the fact that this goes against what a lot of other publications are saying about the shortage.
I’d like to put together a stipend of sorts to help fund her while she pitches this story to various outlets, magazines, and so forth. So this week a percentage of Stenonymous donations will go to that in addition to some money from my own wallet.
Even if you’re tapped out monetarily, I’d ask you to share. The more eyes on, the more possibility of finding the funding we need.
Contributions may be made via the donation box on the front page of Stenonymous.com, @stenonymous on Venmo, or ChristopherDay227@gmail.com by PayPal or Zelle.
There are never guarantees of publication, but it is my hope that by working with someone who is familiar with the story pitching world, we can have more success. I’ve never been a part of that world and never wanted to be. And while I have used my “wild man” publishing strategy to spread the word among the community, stave off hostile journalists, and deter bogus lawsuits, it has not done well for actual publication.
PhD is in religion (Duke University) with a dissertation on attention (to suffering). I truly believe this is someone that can bring attention to our work.
P.S.
Some morning musing:
I am but a drop of water in a sea of people that would sing a new song if the words were written.
I am but a puff of smoke from the fires in the hearts of women and men.
I am but a moment in time born from the seconds that came before Elysium.
I am but a step at the foot of the courthouse where those who judge are judged.
You are the lyricist that can change the world.
You are the fire to end all fires.
You are the chosen. This is your time.
Will you judge fairly?
Our verdict will be just.
Our future will be blessed.
Our light will never extinguish.
Our voice will make waves.
Dare we hear it?
Dare we feel it?
Dare we see it?
Dare we believe it?
I am reaching deep into my soul to believe in you.
Can you see me?
Do you feel any different…
…hearing our call?

Love the photo. But it’s sad to me that so many of our public spaces are literally blocked off from the public thanks to those who wish to harm democracy and their fellow Americans.
Whoops. I originally made a comment to this before fully understanding the context. I have to edit this to say “I cannot comment at this time.”
